In this review, we’re going to be looking at the Tefal ActiFry Genius Plus air fryer. Tefal has been making air fryers for years, and this Genius Plus model is the latest premium model in their line-up. It features dishwasher-safe parts and a generous cooking 1.2kg capacity (up to 6 portions).
It may not be the cheapest air fryer but the Genius+ is packed full of advanced features to make cooking easier.
Are you looking for an intelligent air fryer to cook healthy but tasty and crispy food then the ActiFry Genius is for you. Tefal is the leading air fryer brand, so they know a thing or two about healthy fried foods.
The Genius Plus features an automatic stirring paddle which turns your food over for even cooking. There’s no need to stop halfway through to shake the basket as you do with other air fryers. This means you can start the Genius+ and leave it to cook the food for you.
The digital controls are easy to use and the LCD display showing the cooking time and preset chosen is clear to view.
Good to know
After each use, there is a filter inside the unit that needs cleaning to keep the ActiFry at optimum performance.
There is a warming function, so if you’re waiting on other food to finish cooking (e.g. steamed vegetables), then the stay warm function is a helpful feature.
There is a 12-month warranty included with this model.
The bowl is Teflon coated, which has superior non-stick properties, making cleaning up an easy task.
The snacking basket seen on other Tefal models is not suitable for this air fryer.

The cooking bowl has a capacity of 1.2kg which is plenty to cook for 5-6 people. If you need more capacity, then consider the larger ActiFry Genius XL, which has a 1.7kg capacity.
The ActiFry Genius has 9 preset cooking programmes which cover a variety of popular foods you may decide to cook. Each of the 9 presets controls the cooking temperature and amount of stirring, giving you even more flexibility for getting the best results.

Not only will you love the hassle-free cooking but when you’re finished, both the bowl and stirring paddle are dishwasher safe, so no washing up here!
